The Coming of a New Age of Wisdom

Greetings and Salutations to all!!

I’m sure from the startled expressions on all of your mystified mugs, you’re each and every one thinking….”Danny’s got something to say? Finally??”

I know, there are so many things I need to tell everyone….
Like, this year’s Spring-Con in Minnesota. Or maybe I can talk about the fact that I’ve decided to go back to school so I can learn how to draw.

Or maybe I could tell about the cool comic stuff I’ve been working on….like Starbomb #0, just recently released and selling for the low, low price of a measly 2 bucks! It’s a 12-page story about the day the main villain Fantasticman goes bad and how Starbomb and the rest of the gang handle it. It’s my first little jaunt on using a bit of the digital media to enhance my comics. I’m not saying I’m going to be doing it on a permanent basis, but I figured I’d jump into the 21st century…whether it wanted me to or not!

The wonderful fellas of Instant Press decided to do a 2 pronged attack on the comic world and put out 2  (count ‘em..2!) versions of the zero-ish. The first was a regular sized mag for the masses selling at the aforementioned 2 buck price, and another ashcan version that all good little boys and girls at the convention received for free!! Belay the gasps o’ purveyors of all things Dann….you didn’t misread…I said free! There were limited copies, so I had to pick and choose on whom to bestow my greatness upon.

Yup…just a bunch of good comic bookin’!

Now for something a little different. I’ve been bustin’ out my writing chops lately and decided to share with all of you poor souls my latest little endevour  into the literary litany of life. It’s a little diddy I like to call…..

The End of the Fragile Things

I wonder how the end days will come.
We’ve heard the stories, by heart they’re known.
Will the ground open up and swallow all?
The stars align and nature bears her wraith.
Not out of spite, or joy, or hate
But to teach us all a lesson,
To make sure we know who’s really in charge.
Or do you think the skies will burst open?
As Angels come down from Heaven
Floating on silver, gossamer wings?
Will they fight the hordes of the mourning star,
The first of the fallen’s terrible men?
And will they engulf all in their fiery
Backlash of sacred powers and might?
Will they care that we are still here
Or will our eyes be burned by His glory?
I’d like to think the apes will take over.
Born from some unknown disaster,
They rise to the top with their newfound brains.
Knowing that they are now smarter than man.
(Were we ever really that smart at all?)
We can become their slaves or their pets.
Until some astronaut ruins it all!
Maybe a zombie outbreak is soon?
Millions of the dead, hungry for brains.
Attacking soldiers and scaring small kids.
Shambling, rustling our lives away.
Not caring who we happen to eat,
As long as it’s not George Romero,
We owe him some slack, after all.
All these could happen, one day I guess…
But what if, from the corners of my mind,
Something inside me tells me it’s time.
I decide to finally wake up…
The dream is over, and you’re all gone?

And on that little note of nastiness, I feel I should run off into the night and visit the realm of Morpheus now! (That means I’m gonna hit the sack and sleep ‘till noon)

Till next time….

Dann

Welcome friends and fanatics, to my first ever unabashed blog of news, notes and nostalgic musings!

I won't bore anyone out there with any way out, wacky views on how awe inspiring shoe lace tips are, or why the cast of Jersey Shore are ruining couch potato's lives. I just want to share to the adoring public my views on things that may be useful on a rainy day.
